FAQ

Common questions

What happens to transparency when converting to JPG or BMP?
JPG and BMP don't support transparency, so any transparent areas in a PNG, WEBP, or GIF source are filled with white. PNG, WEBP, and GIF targets keep transparency intact.
Does this preserve image quality?
Lossless formats (PNG, BMP, GIF) convert without quality loss. JPG and WEBP use a high-quality setting, but as lossy formats they involve some compression by design.
Is my image stored on your server?
Your file is uploaded to convert it — that upload is required for this specific tool — and the file is cleaned up from server storage after processing.
What's the file size limit?
10MB per file.
Can I convert HEIC, TIFF, or SVG files?
Yes — HEIC (iPhone photos), TIFF (scanners/print), and SVG (vector graphics) are accepted as input. They are decoded server-side via Imagick or ImageMagick and re-encoded to your chosen target (JPG, PNG, WEBP, GIF, or BMP). HEIC, TIFF, and SVG cannot be used as a target format.

Drag a .tiff or .tif file onto the drop zone, or click to browse. Files up to 10MB are supported.

2. Pick JPG as the Target

JPG is the default on this page. You can also pick PNG or WEBP for lossless or web-optimized alternatives.

3. Download the JPG

Click Convert image, preview the result, and download your JPG.

Why Convert TIFF to JPG?

  • Smaller file size — a multi-megapixel TIFF can easily be 50MB. The equivalent JPG is often under 1MB.
  • Universal compatibility — JPG opens everywhere. TIFF support is patchy outside of scanners, print, and design tools.
  • Email and chat — most mail providers cap attachments at 10-25MB. JPGs almost always fit.
  • Web uploads — forms, social media, and CMSes almost always accept JPG but rarely accept TIFF.

About TIFF

TIFF (Tagged Image File Format) is the de facto standard for scanned documents, print proofs, and archival photography. It's lossless, supports CMYK, and can include multiple pages, but the file size makes it impractical for web and email. Our tool decodes the TIFF server-side via Imagick / ImageMagick and re-encodes it to JPG at high quality (90%).

Privacy

Files are uploaded to our server for conversion (required for TIFF decoding), processed, and then discarded. We don't retain copies.
