Add Play Button to Image
Add a play button to a picture so it reads as a video on social feeds, link previews, and video thumbnails. The tool runs entirely in your browser — your image is never uploaded — and you can download the result in the exact dimensions you need.
How to use
- Drop in a PNG, JPEG, or WebP image up to 10 MB.
- Pick one of twelve play-button styles and place it in the center or any corner.
- Adjust the size and opacity so the button sits naturally over your image.
- Choose an output size, then press Generate and download the result.
Play button styles
The tool includes a dozen vector play-button designs, from a classic filled circle to a YouTube-style red button, a ring, a pill, a hexagon, a diamond, and more. Every style is drawn as a crisp vector overlay, so it stays sharp at any output size.
Placement and sizing
Place the button in the center, top-left, top-right, bottom-left, or bottom-right of your image, then scale it from 5% to 60% of the image's smaller side and set its opacity from 10% to 100%.
Output sizes
- Original — keeps your image exactly as uploaded.
- 1280 × 720 — the standard YouTube thumbnail ratio.
- 600 × 320 — a wide, compact share size.
- 1080 × 1080 — a square for feeds and posts.
- 1080 × 1350 — a portrait size for stories and pins.
The fixed presets center-crop your image rather than stretching it, so people and objects keep their proportions.
Privacy
Add Play Button to Image works entirely on your device. Your picture is decoded in the browser, the overlay is drawn onto a canvas, and the result is saved back out locally. Nothing is transmitted, logged, or stored — refresh the page and it is gone from memory.
