How it works

Two steps, no account

1

Enter your numbers

Starting balance, any yearly deposits, an interest rate, and how many years you'll leave it invested.

2

Compare the alternatives

Two extra tables show the same starting balance at other common time periods and other interest rates, so you can see the sensitivity of the result.

FAQ

Common questions

Is interest compounded annually here?
Yes — the balance compounds once per year, and any yearly deposit is added after that year's interest. A more frequent compounding schedule (monthly, daily) would produce a slightly different result even at the same nominal rate.
Does this account for taxes or fees?
No — the interest rate you enter is assumed to be the net rate your money actually grows at. If your real account has fees or is taxed annually, factor that into the rate you enter.
Is my financial information sent anywhere?
No. All calculations run locally in your browser — nothing is transmitted, logged, or stored.
